In 1866 Pope Pius IX entrusted to the Redemptorists the icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and told them, "Make her known all over the world." They placed the original icon in the Church of St. Alphonsus in Rome, and since then have carried her picture to every country in the world. 2016 will mark 150 years of having Mary's picture in our churches and homes the world over. It will be a special year for our parish, Perpetual Help here in Brooklyn.
